Dear Community Partner,

It is with great pleasure that we announce Raksha, Inc.’s 9th Annual Fundraiser, Ek Shaam Raksha Ke
Naam (An evening benefiting Raksha).  Raksha has grown from a volunteer based community
initiative to a community-based agency that plays a critical role in addressing violence against immigrant
women and children.  In order to meet the full needs of our clients, Raksha’s work extends beyond crisis
intervention to encompass a wide range of services including family and individual counseling, career
assistance, medical and legal advocacy, language interpretation, as well as a youth program.

With approximately 80,000 South Asians within the metropolitan Atlanta area, the need for support,
mentoring and education on issues such as family violence, divorce, healthcare and immigration has
increased substantially. As the only social service organization focusing on the South Asian community in
Georgia, Raksha’s goal is to raise $150,000 this year to support and expand our program in response to
this rapidly growing need.

Raksha is pleased to invite you to participate in our annual fundraiser scheduled for September 2007.  This
year we will be hosting the second   Atlanta South Asian Idol competition in which we will
have both a singing and dancing portion.  Raksha, Inc. is the first South Asian non-profit to be hosting
such an event and is excited about this new venture. Sponsorship of this event will offer an excellent
opportunity to market your services to over 1,000 South Asian community leaders as well as to the general
public through media and advertisement. As Raksha strives to be a source of support for all South Asians
who need a helping hand, we are in need of your help.  Your financial contribution will go towards funding
the many free services provided to the community by Raksha.
