🌱 New Futures Fellowship – Uniting for Communities Free From Violence
About the Fellowship
We are excited to launch the second year of our youth fellowship at Raksha! The New Futures Fellowship is designed to elevate youth leadership, as well as personal and professional development. This program aims to support young changemakers in showing up for their communities. Through 10 monthly sessions starting in September 2025, participants will learn about South Asian anti-violence movements and see themselves as part of the solution.
Eligibility
- South Asian heritage or ancestry (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Indo-Caribbean diaspora, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka).
- Preference given to underrepresented South Asian groups, such as geographic, religious, and caste marginalized youth.
- Ages 18 – 25 years old
- Lives in Georgia
- Can commit to monthly 2-hour meetings (virtual or in-person)
Fellowship Details
- Attend monthly meetings from September 2025 – June 2026 with like-minded collaborators.
- Hybrid format – option to attend in person in metro ATL or attend virtually through Zoom. We encourage applicants outside the metro ATL area to attend virtually and will support as needed to ensure access to program benefits.
- Learn foundational principles of anti-violence movements in the US & South Asia.
- Collaborate as a group to complete 2 projects focused on increasing community safety and connection.
- Earn a $30 stipend per meeting (up to $300 total).
