Amita Swadhin & Ek Shaam 2019

Raksha is pleased to invite you to participate in our annual fundraiser, Ek Shaam Raksha Ke Naam (An Evening in the Name of Raksha), to be held November 9th, ,beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Westin Perimeter with activist, author, and keynote speaker, Amita Swadhin.
This year, we celebrate 24 years of service to South Asian community members experiencing domestic violence. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to support thousands of adults and children who depend on you to support Raksha’s mission to promote a stronger and healthier South Asian community through confidential support services, education and advocacy. This year’s theme is: “Together, We Heal.”
Raksha has grown from a small volunteer organization to a leading community-based agency that plays a critical role in addressing violence against immigrant adults and children. Raksha offers crisis intervention and long-term therapeutic counseling, economic empowerment, housing assistance, medical and legal advocacy, and youth programming. Raksha has provided support for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child abuse and other violent crimes.
Raksha continues to be the only organization serving the social service and justice needs of the South Asian population in the State of Georgia and the metro Atlanta area. The lives of more than 40 thousand community members have been touched by Raksha. Yet, there are so many others who need support and protection, as South Asians are the fastest growing Asian community in Georgia and are among the fastest growing ethnic groups in Atlanta.
Supporting this cause could make a life changing difference in the lives of so many South Asians who greatly need your help. Your Sponsorship of this event, by way of print, web and event exposure, will showcase your business or organization before thousands of South Asian community members who will see that you are vested in their care and well being.
Your financial contributions will go towards funding the free services Raksha provides to the South Asian community and other immigrant communities that come to Raksha for help.
Enclosed you will find an overview of Raksha’s achievements towards realizing a stronger and healthier South Asian community, one person at a time. We ask for your financial support as we continue to liberate, educate, and empower those in need. We urge you to take this opportunity to partner with Raksha and make a difference. And if you have partnered with us before, support the South Asian Community again with an even greater contribution.
You are greatly appreciated! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you in advance for your partnership, as together, we open doors to a stronger and healthier South Asian Community.
Respectfully, Aparna Bhattacharyya Executive Director
