We will share organizing tools to identify loci of power, how to interrupt entrenched platforming of perpetrators, and support other survivors. The cohort will culminate in a development of a reproductive justice analysis that connects bodily autonomy to political power.
Reproductive rights are human rights
Reproductive rights allow people to make educated choices about their bodies and lives.
- South Asian heritage or ancestry
- South Asia includes: India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.
- Preference given to underrepresented South Asian groups, including indigenous, Adivasi, Dalit, and Bahujan students.
- The community also includes members of the South Asian diaspora – past generations of South Asians who originally settled in many areas around the world, including the Caribbean (Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago), Africa (Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda), Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and other parts of Asia and the Pacific Islands (Fiji, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore).
- Ages 18-26
- Lives in metro Atlanta area
- The metro Atlanta area includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties, and the city of Atlanta.
- Has experienced violence, including but not limited to survivor of sexual violence, dating violence, secondary survivor of domestic violence, gender violence, etc.
- We will not ask you any questions about your identification within this group.
- Commit to attend 10 monthly sessions (virtual or in-person) from August 2024 to May 2025.
