While many of you generously invest your time and talents, for which we extend our heartfelt gratitude, we also seek financial support to underpin Raksha’s continued growth. Your financial gift, whatever amount you find comfortable, will play a pivotal role in:

  • Expanding Services: Facilitating and hosting monthly support groups, providing direct services such as helplines, crisis intervention, tutoring, and referral services, all to further enrich and extend Raksha’s offerings to the South Asian community.
  • Maintaining and Elevating Facilities: Ensuring that our facilities remain accessible and supportive for those who turn to us.

Gifts of Tribute: Honoring, Celebrating, Remembering

Numerous members of our community have generously donated, be it to commemorate their union, celebrate their commitment to one another, or mark a special birthday. By contributing, you’re not just giving a gift; you’re investing in the vitality and well-being of our South Asian community. It’s a heartfelt gesture that extends to benefit the entire community at large. In appreciation of your contribution towards a stronger and healthier community, Raksha will send you a special acknowledgment card!

Elevate Raksha: Corporate Support through Grants, Matching Gifts, and Workplace Giving
  • Before you make out your personal donation, check with your employers to see if they provide matching gifts to organizations you donate to or if they match your volunteer time with donations.
  • Your employer may support the organizations its employees volunteer and donate to.  Check with your employers corporate foundation or community relations offices to see how they support non profit organizations in the community.  You can be an ambassador for Raksha to find out if Raksha’s work fits within their giving guidelines.  If there is a good fit, you can coordinate a meeting between Raksha staff and your employers’s  foundation representatives  or make Raksha’s staff aware of the grant guidelines.  It is always helpful when an employee of a company helps champion Raksha’s work.

Raksha is part of two workplace giving campaigns. So if your employer encourages its employees to donate to non profit organizations through Raksha’s. Our specific care code for United Way of Atlanta is 401.

Many Raksha volunteers and supporters have asked their employers to help support Raksha’s fundraisers and community events. Raksha is always looking for Corporate Sponsorship of our programs and fundraisers.  Please check with your employers Marketing Department/Corporate Relations/ Corporate Contributions Department to see how they can support Raksha’s work, what their deadlines are and what they need to sponsor an event.

Gifts in Kind: Donating Services and Items

Raksha continually relies on pro bono services from our dedicated community. The individuals we serve are consistently in need of pro bono legal and medical support. Many generous souls have contributed in-kind dental and medical services, counseling sessions, and legal aid.

List of In-Kind services needed: Accounting, Computer Maintenance, Networking,  Corporate law, Event Planning,  Fundraising, Human Resources, Interpreting, Translation, Marketing, and Publicity.

Over the years, numerous South Asian businesses have stood by Raksha, providing steadfast support for our mission and fundraising endeavors. Contributions in the form of vendor space, culinary delights, giveaways, Skymiles and airline tickets, hotel accommodations, raffle items, and captivating artwork for silent auctions all play an integral role in bolstering Raksha’s fundraising and outreach events.

Raksha additionally requires MARTA tokens, cab rides, computer equipment, emergency hotel accommodations, reliable vehicles, sustenance for our support groups, and a range of other essentials to assist the individuals who turn to us for direct services.

Donate Publicity and Advertising Space
Valuable media allies such as Khabar and Desi MOJO have played a pivotal role in spotlighting Raksha’s mission through their television programs, online platforms, and publications. Their extensive coverage has been instrumental in raising awareness about our services and fundraising efforts within our community.

Nourish our Community: Contribute to the Food Pantry and Donation Drives

We accept the following type of food items and household supplies for our food pantry:

*Please check expiration dates*

*Dry goods: lentils, rice, flour-sealed in original bag.
*Canned goods: vegetables, beans, fruits, etc. (dent-free)
*Condiments/baking: vegetable oil, canola oil, olive oil, ghee, etc, baking powder and baking soda. (Sealed in original container and dent-free)
*Spices: salt, pepper, curry powder, sambar powder, cinnamon, cardamon, cloves, etc.(Sealed in original bag)
* Household Cleaning supplies: laundry detergent, disinfecting sprays, house cleaning products
* Personal Care/ Hygiene items: body wash/soap, shampoos, hair products, toothbrush, toothpaste, skincare moisturizers

Other Wish List Items:

*Gift cards from grocery stores such as Wal-Mart, Krogers, Gas Stations Target, Doordash, Ubereats, etc. are always welcome

Though Raksha primarily serves the South Asian community, we provide services to all those who face similar barriers to justice, of ability, country of origin, race, religion, caste, socioeconomic status, gender identity, age, immigration status, or sexual orientation.
